
STOCKTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS - U.S.D. 271
Mission Statement:
The mission of District #271 is to dedicate
all its resources to provide a positive educational environment that
encourages the achievement of every student's fullest potential.
Academics
Stockton is currently a Phase 4 QPA school. Colby Community College
offers outreach classes, and Kansas State University in Manhattan offers
Telenet classes for those desiring continuing education.
Athletics
USD #271 offers a variety of interscholastic athletic programs for grades
7-12. Currently, students can participate in football, basketball,
wrestling, volleyball, track, and cheerleading at the junior and senior high
school levels; golf and dance are offered at the senior high school level.
Music
Music students travel to many contests across the state as well as
performing at home athletic events and programs.
Technology
The grade school building contains a Macintosh lab and the high school
building has an IBM lab as well as Macintosh computers in the library and
Language Arts room. Internet use is available, and Multimedia classes are
offered.

Stockton High School was built in 1957; in 1981, a new
gymnasium was added to the building.
Stockton Grade School

Vision Statement: Doing our Best to be the
Best
SGS's two classrooms per level from grades K-8 provide a low
student-teacher ratio; an Early Childhood Development class is also offered.
The Grade School building, a WPA project, recently underwent major
construction in 1994 and added a new library, classrooms, computer lab,
gymnasium, offices, and restrooms.
